Give the MDBA responsibility for managing the Lower Lakes

South Australia has been caught out mismanaging environmental water in the Lower Lakes.

Billions of dollars worth of environmental water from Victoria and New South Wales is being held in the Lower Lakes rather than sent through the barrages to support the Coorong and keep the Murray Mouth open.

While fish die in the Darling and southern basin irrigators experience low allocations and high temporary water prices there are sailing regattas being held on the Lower Lakes!

South Australia cannot be trusted to use environmental water appropriately. It's time for the Murray Darling Basin Authority to take over responsibility for Murray River and Lower Lakes operations.
